Curated With Visha

An ancient Himalayan kingdom so unique that it was kept a secret for centuries. If you are a true explorer and want a life changing experience, this winter expedition is your calling.

Spiti Holi Exclusive by Visha

Visha believes in the idea of slow travel that includes understanding a place in it’s most raw form, interacting with the locals and indulging oneself in the rich culture that the place offers. The itinerary of this trip has been drafted keeping this in mind in a way that we don’t leave out any important experience yet end up feeling rejuvenated!
Moreover, this trip is not just about understanding the destination but also yourself, people you travel with and pushing yourself into unknown territories (both literally and metaphorically) and surprising yourself with all that you can do.

Join her for this exciting series of adventures across Spiti Valley which is undeniably one of the most bizarre and gorgeous place on the planet.

5th March : Mountains of Sarahan

Wake up and feel the fresh mountain breeze hitting your face. Take a morning chai & breakfast break at Narkanda, before you continue your riverside journey towards Jeori via Rampur Bushahr & Jhakri (Remember Nathpa Jhakri Dam). En-route either of these places, grab yourself some lunch and head over to your humble abode at Sarahan for a quick power nap in your cozy beds, to recharge yourself. This is a chilled-out😇 evening, so depending on what your adrenaline levels are like, you can take short hike till the 800year old Bhimakali Temple, post power nap, or just laze around and hop on to your bus and check out the temple which offers a panoramic view of the majestic Himalyas in Sarahan. Get back just in time for a sumptuous dinner meal. Just take it easy #metime to rejuvenate on the first day of your Parikrama.

Highlights Narkanda, Sarahan, Mountain-scape & Warm Welcome

6th March : Riverside Drive

We set out in the morning post breakfast for Chitkul via Sangla. What makes this stretch of the journey so scenic is the fact that the road we take which leads to Chitkul runs parallel partly to the river Satluj & the rest to Baspa for most of the journey. We reach Chitkul, just in time for lunch and to explore ‘India’s Last Village before China’. Arrive early evening at your accommodation in Sangla and post recuperating from the travel, get a hearty rajma Chawal dinner.  Dive into some card/board games that you might be carrying but do get adequate rest before the long journey that follows ahead on the next day.

Stop over for lunch en-route to Gue to check out an absolute relic i.e. a perfectly well-preserved 500-year-old mummy. Later in the evening arrive at your humble abode in Tabo (10,700ft approx) and rejoice at your arrival by treating yourself to a hot & appetizing dinner, then dive into your cozy beds for a well-deserved rest.

Right after Hikkim, make sure to be present for your Group Insta moment at the iconic signboard “Komic (15,000ft approx) Highest Village In World Connected With Motorable Road”. Follow it up with a visit to the Buddha Statue at Langza, which to most feels like a truly heavenly landscape, as if you’re in the valley of the Gods. Also if you look around keenly & you’re lucky, you might just find yourself a fossil or two.
Your host will welcome you in Kaza with a wholesome dinner and a bonfire to keep yourself cozy & merry at night while stargazing.

Since, we have time at hand today, you can take a hike to the Key Monastery Photo Point, provided you’re feeling fit and enthusiastic. Since we always go an extra mile when it comes to exploring, we won’t let you miss out on Chicham Bridge which is at a staggering height of 13596 ft and is hence, Asia’s highest suspension bridge. Look down this one and you will find yourself gaping below, at a 1000 ft deep gorge!
