Offbeat Trek to Kamalgad Fort By The Kayakers™
This fort is situated close to the picturesque Hill Station of Mahabaleshwar in the Satara District near Wai, and can be seen from the Pasarani Ghat. This fort is seen in the background in the movies ‘Swades’ and ‘Being Cyrus’. Despite this proximity to one of the most famous tourist spots in Maharashtra, this fort is not very well known. Surrounded by the waters of the Dhom Dam on 3 sides, this fort is covered with thick forests at the top.

01.30 am: Reach at base village Tupewadi and rest
06.00 am: Wake up call
06.30 am: Breakfast and tea
07.30 am: Trek start with round of introduction and few instructions
09.00 am: Reach top of Fort, explore & Group photos
10.00 am: Start descend till Plateau (There is a hut of a shepherd)
11.30 am: Lunch
12.30 pm: Descending from plateau
01.30 pm: Reach base village and start journey to Pune
04.00 pm: Tea break
06.00 pm: Reach Pune

1. Two water battles ( 2 ltr at least)
2. Sweater/Jacket

4. Ready to eat food (Biscuits, palm cakes, thepla)
5. Extra pair of clothes
6. Good trekking/ sports shoes
7. Torch (Must)
8. Personal medicines (if any)
9. Cap, sunglasses, sun cream or cold cream, camera (Optional)
