Hey Guys,
We welcome you to yet backpacking trip powered by TRIPVER- Travel Community. Witness the vividness and charm of one of the oldest existing cities of our country.
India’s official ‘pink city’ called Jaipur, there’s much more to Rajasthan’s capital than its pink-red tinged buildings and historic splendour. This majestic home to erstwhile royals is complete with old-world charm surrounded by colourful markets and chaotic streets.
Jodhpur is a city in the Thar Desert of the northwest Indian state of Rajasthan. Its 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort is a former palace that’s now a museum, displaying weapons, paintings and elaborate royal palanquins (sedan chairs). Set on on a rocky outcrop, the fort overlooks the walled city, where many buildings are painted the city’s iconic shade of blue.
The Battle at Laungewala (Subject of the movie Border) is known as one of the most glorious battles in modern history. The sands of Laungewala witnessed 120 brave Indian foot soldiers equipped with just 1 Jeep win a battle against 2000 Pakistani soldiers equipped with 45 modern tanks & more than 150 other vehicles.
To relive India’s glory, we will be travelling to this very battlefield (you heard it right) where destroyed enemy tanks and vehicles witness to the fury and determination of India are still scattered in the sand.
Pushkar is a town bordering the Thar Desert, in the northeastern Indian state of Rajasthan. It’s set on Pushkar Lake, a sacred Hindu site with 52 ghats (stone staircases) where pilgrims bathe. The town has hundreds of temples, including 14th-century Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, dedicated to the god of creation, which has a distinctive red spire and walls inlaid with pilgrims’ silver coins.
While planning to visit these destinations here are a few things that you must keep in mind before setting out on the journey. For your ease and to facilitate your personal planning for the trip we have made few pointers which may help you before coming on board for the trip.
Weather & Clothing:
-The temperatures during the day are set to soar higher. To keep yourself comfortable, make sure you have loose fitting clothes with you that allow your skin to breathe. Carry flips flops or open sandals to keep your feet cool and relaxed. A pair of sports shoes is highly recommended as well. Wear full sleeved clothes, shirt or tops, to cover your hands and arms and protect them from sunburn.
-Nights are relatively much cooler so make sure you carry adequate woolens(including sweater, caps) and jackets. If you’re someone who feels colder than others, carrying thermals isn’t a bad idea at all as well.
-Do not forget to carry sunblock lotions and water bottles with you when stepping outdoors.
Stay Safe
-Just a heads up, be cautious while dealing with other vendors at any destinations.
-If you want to hire local travel guide, do not go with him alone. If you are a solo female tourist, safety is more important than price.
We always recommend our travellers to carry light rucksack and a simple backpack to be able to travel and move around hassle free during the trip. We would recommend for you to carry the following as per your own discretion:
- Items of personal use
- Caps,Sunglasses, Sunscreen,Wet Wipes
- Personal Medical Kit & Prescribed medicines if you are on medication
- Hard Cash (subjective)
- Head Phones/Ear phones
- Eye mask & Ear plugs
- Portable chargers & speakers
- Torch
- Book to read
- Board Games/Playing Cards/UNO
- Comfortable lowers for walking around
Shopping:
Street Shopping is about colorful trinkets, leather goods, spices and even royal jewelry; which makes it one of the best things to do in Rajasthan. The state has made the world go gaga over its artistry, along with its splendid monuments that speak of a legendary past. In case you are going street shopping ensure that you bargin 30 to 40% of the price 😉
The itinerary is made keeping in mind the basic structure for your visit and we try our best to meet the timelines. As per our past experiences, there may be a possibility there may be a shift in timings. This may be due to heavy traffic, weather conditions, stamina levels of the travellers or simply because you want to spend the night watching stars and wake up easy at the next day and leave a little later than the mentioned time :). Try your best to follow timelines as it make your travel experience more fun & avoid testing the patience levels of punctual travellers. 😉
Our Trip Captains are core members of the community and are usually fun loving happy go lucky people, but are usually not pleasant to travellers who cause inconvenience to mother nature or other travellers during the trip especially under the influence of alcohol. Our community has never faced a situation like this as we have always had amazing open minded travellers, but in case required the Trip Captains would not hesitate and reserve the right to discontinue a traveller’s trip and then further blacklist from Tripver for the above mentioned reason. As we follow this policy strictly we have high credibility and decent reputation especially among solo women and other like minded travellers.
Ensure you carry a government approved photo ID proof for credentials verification and registration. Your safety is our paramount concern and we have taken adequate steps to ensure the same.
Happy Tripping !
