Spiti Valley Expedition – 13 Days of Himalayan Bliss
Day 1: Delhi → Chandigarh
Your journey begins as you arrive in Delhi and set out for Chandigarh. This is more of a transfer
day, covering around 250 km (approx. 5–6 hours). Settle in, stretch your legs, and gear up for
the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Chandigarh → Narkanda
Leave behind the plains and cruise into the mountains. The drive (about 180 km, 6–7 hours)
takes you through winding Himalayan roads, reaching Narkanda, a quiet hill station famous for
apple orchards and gorgeous Himalayan vistas. A relaxed evening under crisp mountain air sets
the tone for the trip.

Day 3: Narkanda → Sarahan
Today’s ride is relatively smooth, around 90 km (4–5 hours). You’ll drive through pine forests
and step into the traditional Himachali culture of Sarahan. The town is home to the famous
Bhimakali Temple, offering spiritual vibes against the backdrop of snow peaks.
Day 4: Sarahan → Rakchham / Sangla
The drive takes about 4–5 hours (90 km), heading deeper into Kinnaur Valley. Rakchham and
Sangla are postcard-perfect hamlets along the Baspa River. Expect wooden houses, apple
orchards, and breathtaking views. A perfect stop to experience the rustic charm of Himachal.
Day 5: Sangla / Rakchham → Tabo via Chitkul & Nako
This is a long day — approx. 200 km (8–9 hours) — but possibly the most scenic. Drive to
Chitkul, India’s last inhabited village near the Tibet border, and continue toward the turquoise
Nako Lake. By evening, reach Tabo, known for its thousand-year-old monastery and a unique
desert-like landscape.
Day 6: Tabo → Kaza
A relatively shorter ride today, about 50 km (2–3 hours). On the way, explore Dhankar
The monastery is perched dramatically on a cliffside. By afternoon, you arrive at Kaza, the heart of
Spiti Valley. Relax, acclimatise, and soak in the raw beauty of the high desert.
Day 7: Kaza Local
Full day exploring Kaza and around. Visit the iconic Key Monastery, the largest in Spiti, and the
village of Kibber, once among the highest inhabited villages in the world. If time allows, drive to
Chicham Bridge — Asia’s highest suspension bridge.
Day 8: Kaza Local
Another exploration day. Head to Langza, the fossil village, where ancient marine fossils are still
found, then onward to Hikkim (home to the world’s highest post office), and finally Komik, one of
The world’s highest villages are connected by motorable roads.
Day 9: Kaza → Kalpa
Time to retrace your journey back into Kinnaur. This drive (approx. 210 km, 8–9 hours) is long
but rewarding, with constantly changing landscapes. Kalpa welcomes you with apple orchards
and stunning views of the sacred Kinnaur Kailash range.
Day 10: Kalpa → Jibhi
Another big transition day, covering about 260 km (9–10 hours). Drive into the lush Tirthan
Valley, reaching Jibhi, a serene village with pine forests, gurgling streams, and cozy homestays.
Perfect for an evening by the bonfire.
Day 11: Jibhi → Manali

A scenic ride of 100 km (4–5 hours) takes you to Manali. Enjoy the mountain vibes as you settle
into this popular hill station.
Day 12: Manali Local Exploration
A leisure day in Manali — visit Hadimba Temple, Manu Temple, Mall Road, or just laze around in
Old Manali’s cafés. Optional activities include paragliding, hot springs at Vashisht, or a drive to
Solang Valley.
